Objective

Client came to us with one clear goal:
Modernize their outdated website and make it user and editor friendly.

Here’s what they needed:

  • A fresh, modern design that works great on any device
  • A faster, more scalable backend architecture
  • Easy ways for visitors to filter and explore home options
  • Custom page templates and forms that are simple to manage
  • A powerful CMS setup using Kentioc Xperience 13, giving editors more control

Challenges We Faced and How We Solved Them

1. Old-School Design & Navigation

Problem:
The existing website looked outdated and was hard to use, especially on mobile phones.

What we did:
We gave it a complete makeover using responsive design principles with Bootstrap, custom CSS, and modular components. Now, the site looks great on phones, tablets, and desktops with smooth, modern navigation.

2. Widgets Disappearing in Admin Preview

Problem:
Editors where frustrated widgets would vanish or wouldn’t save properly in Kentico’s preview mode.

What we did:
We fine tuned the Kentico admin by customizing how widgets are loaded and saved. We also built a special form component so editors could easily select blog posts, events, or news from one place saving time and clicks.

3. Multiple Custom Page Types

Problem:
There were many types of homes, each needing its own layout and logic.

What we did:
We created dynamic page templates that automatically match the right layout to the correct home type. This made it super easy for the team to add new homes without worrying about design mismatches.

4. JavaScript & jQuery Issues in Preview

Problem:JavaScript wasn’t playing nice in preview mode functions weren’t initializing properly.

What we did:
We fixed this by triggering custom JavaScript events after the DOM loaded, ensuring scripts ran smoothly whether in preview or on the live site.

5. Workflow & Approval Management

Problem:
The content team needed a way to review and approve content before it went live.

What we did:
We set up Kentico's built in workflow tools and assigned clear roles so nothing goes live without the right people giving the green light.

6. Clean, SEO Friendly URLs

Problem:
The blog, event, and news pages needed a clean URL structure that was both user and SEO friendly.

What we did:
We developed custom URL handlers that manage these pages behind the scenes and generate clean, meaningful URLs that Google loves.

Project Results

✔ A Modern Home-Browsing Experience
Users can now explore and customize home listings easily, whether on mobile or desktop.

✔ Simplified Content Editing for Admins
The backend is cleaner, and smarter widgets work as expected, and templates adjust automatically.

✔ Happy Stakeholders
The client loved the new look, the improved workflows, and how smoothly the project was delivered in phases.

✔ Stronger, More Stable Code
No more JavaScript hiccups or broken previews. Everything just works!
